La Maestra I, II, & III

A neighborhood dance fair in Barcelona. A recital of sorts for the teacher's dance students and anyone else who wanted to join in. There were younger dancers and prettier dancers but
 La Maestra, she was incredible!!!

Setting Out Her Wares

We're going to step out of the galleries for a moment, into a street  of a small village in France. It's early morning and the shopkeepers are getting ready for their day.

A Closer Look

This is a painting I did a few years ago and the original sold long ago but it's one I love, partly because the location is the San Francisco Legion of Honor, one of my local favorites.  The "painting in the painting" is "The Russian Bride's Attire" (1877 by Konstantin Makovsky), a triumph of beautifully painted textures that I very much admire.

Caillebotte Visits Brooklyn

Two young women read the information plaque on a smaller version of Caillebotte's "Floorscrapers", part of a traveling show of his work at the Brooklyn Museum. The larger version is at the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Love those shiny wood floors!

You can see more of the exhibition if you go to: www.brooklynmuseum.org/exibitions/caillebotte
